Industry Veteran Michael Margolis founded Horology Works in 2014. Margolis began his industry career as a moderator at Timezone.com, and through there he connected with Jean-Claude Biver who was the CEO of Blancpain, while Margolis was the moderator of the Timezone Blancpain forum.

In 2004, with Margolis’ background in sales and management, Margolis and Biver began working together to grow the Hublot brand. They started on the ground level to bring awareness and to refine a product that collectors around the world would desire. This eventually led to Margolis being appointed Sales Director of Hublot of America and an astronomical jump in sales turnover over five years.

In 2011, Margolis was offered the opportunity to be the President for North America of both the Girard-Perregaux and JEANRICHARD brands. He led the entire company through a 41% growth phase from 2011 to 2013. With extensive experience in advertising, finance, wholesale, retail distribution, product design, and more, Margolis has the know-how to grow brands.

Margolis brings a unique perspective. As an outsider to the watch industry—where most are born into it, he brings a consumer’s perspective and a collector’s perspective. He sees things differently because he’s been on the other side of the counter. Margolis is not just an experienced executive, he is a watch lover himself.

Margolis himself is a collector, his passion for timepieces was sparked at a young age, by his father.
